This work is the English translation of a scholarly Hindi commentary on the Gita that has won acclaim as an excellent guide for all seekers of its true meaning. In this work each sloka carries first a literal translation, which is followed by a brief, meaningful explanation, captioned with the purport of the sloka. As a clear understanding beforehand of certain terms and concepts would facilitate correct understanding of the sense of the slokas, explanatory notes on them have been appended before the text. All in all, the book is a sincere and successful effort to explain succinctly the Gita s philosophic home-truths in simple language, shorn of all dogma and myth.
About the Author
D.M. Sinha, a retired, Senior Government official, has a strong spiritual outlook and has studied the Gita as well as the Bible and the Quran under the guidance of savants like Rehana Ma Tayyabji, Hanuman Prasad Poddar and Swami Krishnanand. He is also a poet, a musician as well as a sportsman.
