Sri Sankara has packed into the Bhaja Govindam song, the substance of all the Vedantic works that he wrote and he has set the truth of the union of devotion and knowledge to melodious music which delights every ear. C.Rajgopalachari. The Publishers have done a unique job, perhaps for the first time in Indian publishing, of combining the transliteration with translation and also explaining the relevance and adaptability of each sloka to the present day world. A simple mechanical translation of the 31 slokas may not have been of much use to present day reader. The effort is also laudable for adding sixty pages to give a brief biography of Sankara, His literary contribution and His contribution to Hinduism. We rarely come across such a thoughtful publication. In just thirty two years of living Sankara had done so much to advocate and popularize Advaita, the main tenet of Hinduism, a hundred sages could not have done. This fact is hardly known to the readers. This book is a must for every student of Hinduism, for every devotee of Sankara and above all for every good human being who intends to lead a quality life. It should also lead the readers to other great works of Sankara like Bhagvad Gita with Sankara's Commentary, Dakshinamurti Stotra,Sata Sloki etc.,
